Test a real task
Use an example that represents the work you want to improve. Supply the context, source material and constraints needed for a useful result. Check how much time it takes to review and correct the output, as well as the time spent generating it.
Keep responsibility clear
Decide who checks facts, approves a result and deals with mistakes. Check permission to use the input material and the service’s data handling terms. Keep a workable alternative for cases where the tool cannot complete the task.
Build a repeatable process
Record the brief, inputs and checks that worked. Test the process on more than one example, including unusual cases. Revisit the workflow when the task, team or tool changes.
